About Clarity Contracting
Renovations built with clarity — from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
Fully Insured | Locally Operated
Homeowners should not have to chase updates, decode vague estimates, or wonder what comes next.
A renovation affects your home, your budget, and your daily life. The contractor's job is to manage that process — not add to the uncertainty.
That is what Clarity Contracting was built to do.
How we operate
The Conversation
We start with a site visit and a clear conversation — what you want to accomplish, what decisions still need to be made, and what the work will realistically involve.
The Written Plan
We build a detailed written scope that explains what is included, what has been assumed, what still needs to be selected, and what the project will cost. No vague numbers pulled from thin air.
The Work
Selections confirmed. Trades sequenced. Crew on site. If something changes, you hear about it before it affects your budget or timeline.
The Result
The work is done, the trades are gone, and the space is exactly what you signed off on. No gaps, no loose ends, no unfinished details.
What We Believe
Renovation stress rarely comes from the work itself.
It comes from decisions made too late, costs that drift without warning, trades arriving out of sequence, unclear expectations, and plans that were never properly written down.
The fix is not complicated. It requires discipline, clear communication, and a contractor who takes responsibility for the process — not just the work.
That is how every Clarity project is built to run — whether we are completing a focused home improvement in Royston, building a deck in Comox, installing windows and doors in Cumberland, renovating a bathroom in Courtenay, or managing a full kitchen renovation in the Comox Valley, the project type changes. The standard does not.
Our clients' experiences reflect our operating standard.

★★★★★ Google Review
"Clarity Contracting listens. As a woman who has had her fair share of dealings with contractors who were dismissive of my questions and comments, I found dealing with this contracting firm refreshing and wonderful. They listened to my ideas, gave me options, and were a joy to work with. My husband was a bit nervous about budget. They took the time to confirm costs and kept our work on budget, making us aware of any changes that might happen before proceeding. A rare quality among contractors, believe me."
Who we are
Clarity Contracting's crew are carpenters. Framing, finish work, cabinetry, flooring, drywall — we do it ourselves.
When a project calls for licensed trades — plumbing, electrical, or specialty work — we coordinate and manage them as part of the scope.
One contractor. One point of contact. Every trade accounted for.
Where our standard comes from
Clarity Contracting was founded by Pierce Dulmage, a carpenter and renovation contractor who spent years working across residential construction before building a company around the problems he kept seeing.
The friction didn't come from people lacking skill.
It arose because projects lacked structure.
Incomplete planning. Unclear expectations. Poor sequencing. Homeowners left trying to interpret what was happening in their own homes.
The standard built into Clarity — written scopes, confirmed selections, coordinated trades, steady communication — came directly from that experience.
The process matters.
The communication matters.
The details matter.
The standard requires it.
